When I went to Greece
For a two week stay
I dreamt not of
The Parthenon or the comic book Gods
And only occasionally
Of the sexy red head
In front of me
On the tour bus
Instead my dreams
Were filled with the life
I went to Greece to escape –
I dreamt of catching ex-lovers
Engaging in in-complete conversation
And I dreamt of drunken friends
I had known since High School
Crawling across the floor
In search of things not there
And I dreamt of hurtling
Down the street in a stolen Lexus
Smashing through roadblocks
While drinking cheap wine
And exchanging gunfire
With cops in hot pursuit
And now that I dream
Back in my own bed
I hear or see not ex-lovers
Or drunken friends
Or police warnings
I hear and see only
That sexy red head
In front of me
On the tour bus
